Executive Director & Owner, LCSW, CASAC, A-CBT

Dena Lampert

For many years, I have naturally gravitated toward the Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) model. This evidenced-based model focuses on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all connected, like the points of a triangle.

Often, when we find that our behavior is dysfunctional, it is usually connected to distorted thoughts and feelings. CBT teaches us how to become mindful of our distorted thinking and how it affects us emotionally and behaviorally. In my experience, this approach is very effective in helping to create a change in life.

Dr. Carrie Sollin

Although I consider myself an eclectic counselor I tend to always gravitate towards Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing. I feel this approach works best with setting goals and achieving them. CBT therapy is effective in so many aspects of our life, in school, at work, and at home.

Most of my experience has been with the young adult population, I specialize in anxiety-related concerns, relationship and family issues, transitional concerns, self-image and social problems, and trauma.

I am a firm believer that not all therapeutic approaches fit all. CBT, Person-Centered Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing have shown to be beneficial throughout my experience as a therapist. With this increased insight, clients can challenge these maladaptive thoughts which can lead to improvements in behaviors and positive outcomes in their lives.

As a licensed therapist, I rely heavily on evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and interpersonal therapy (IPT). I care a lot about working collaboratively to make sure our sessions focus on what matters most to you and feel meaningful and useful along the way. I have years of experience working with adolescents, adults, and couples across a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, body-image distortion, life transitions, and relationship challenges. I aim to make therapy feel supportive, straightforward, and useful—with a focus on helping clients build coping tools and skills they can carry with them and use confidently outside of session.

I bring a compassionate, caring approach to my clients through a strengths-based perspective and CBT. I strive to meet my clients where they want to start and create a positive, strong, therapeutic alliance and safe environment. By working together, we will establish strategies and coping skills to aid in identifying root causes of your challenges.

I enjoy working with clients of all ages on a variety of issues. In addition, I have extensive training in substance abuse and alcoholism. Each client is a canvas and we will work together to paint your best picture.

By creating a comfortable, safe space for you to talk out what’s troubling or challenging you at the moment we will work together to connect the dots that may be preventing you from moving forward in your life.

Whether you are in treatment for yourself, or for a family member, we will work together to set goals and partialize problems, making them less overwhelming. My goal is to help build a sense of hope and a confidence that there is a way to move forward with a more fulfilled life of peace, hope and anticipation.
